Remote viewing from anywhere
Camlane works on your own network today. Remote viewing will let you watch your cameras from anywhere, end-to-end encrypted, with no account and no sign-in.
Coming soon. Remote viewing is in development and not available in any release yet.
What it will do
- Watch from outside your network. See your cameras live, and your recordings, from a phone or computer that isn’t at home.
- End-to-end encrypted. Video is encrypted on your own devices and decrypted only on yours. The relay at relay.camlane.live passes data along without being able to read it.
- No sign-in. No account and no email address. Your devices trust each other because you paired them, the same way they do on your network today.
Its status will show on the relay status page once the relay is running.
What you can do today
Everything else in Camlane works without it, and without the internet at all. If you need to watch from outside today, connect to your home network with a VPN you control, such as WireGuard or Tailscale, so your phone and computer behave as if they were on the same Wi-Fi. Never forward Camlane’s ports (TCP 47393, UDP 47392) to the internet.
