Codec note

Video is encoded as H.264 by the phone’s hardware encoder and decoded on the computer with openh264, which Camlane builds from source rather than using Cisco’s prebuilt binaries. H.264 is covered by patents in some countries. Camlane doesn’t include a patent licence; whether you need one depends on where you are and what you do. This isn’t legal advice.

This website

Built with Astro (MIT) and the Sätteri Markdown processor (MIT). Text is set in Barlow and Barlow Semi Condensed, SIL Open Font License 1.1, served from this site. Open Graph images are drawn at build time with resvg (Mozilla Public License 2.0), and images are resized with sharp (Apache License 2.0).

Trademarks belong to their owners. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, OBS Studio, Discord, DroidCam, Iriun, Camo and EpocCam are mentioned only to describe compatibility or for comparison; Camlane isn’t affiliated with them.
